Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship Dinner and Annual Meeting
The West Georgia Auburn Club is excited to announce the Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship Dinner and Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012 with guest speaker Brian VanGorder.
Charles D. Hudson passed away in January but his memory will live on through the scholarship that bears his name. The event in May will be the first Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship Dinner and Annual Meeting that will officially recognize the scholarship as being in Mr. Hudson's memory.
Mr. Hudson's passion was giving of his time and talents to create and improve opportunities for all Auburn Students. He served as a member of the Auburn University Foundation board and worked tirelessly for the betterment of Auburn. The West Georgia Auburn Club is committed to remembering him by raising ONE MILLION DOLLARS for the Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship. The fully funded endowed scholarship would help students from West Georgia with tuition so that they might experience Auburn.
As of mid-April, the endowment sits at $475,000. The Callaway Foundation has agreed to contribute matching funds for every dollar raised by the WGAC up to $100,000 per year. Attending the 2012 Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship Dinner and Annual Meeting is an important way that you can be a part of lightening the financial burden for future Auburn students from Troup, Harris and Meriwether Counties.
Every dollar raised through a live auction, merchandise sales, profit from ticket sales and your donations will be matched by the Callaway Foundation and will be put to work immediately.
Make plans now to be a part of this unforgettable event featuring Auburn Defensive Coordinator, Brian VanGorder at the Del'avant Event Center in downtown LaGrange, GA. The social will begin at 6:00pm EDT with dinner starting at 6:30pm on Monday, May 7th.
Tickets for the Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship Dinner and Annual Meeting are $40 each and may be purchased online at www.westgaauclub.com. Tickets are also available at CB&T Main Branch, Plum Southern Gifts, Corley Drugs on North Greenwood or from any board member. The deadline for ticket sales is May 1st.

Dear Auburn Friends,
It is with great sadness that I report to you the death of a great Auburn man. Mr. Charles Hudson Sr. died today, January 19th at his home. Mr. Hudson will be remembered for his love of his family, church, community and Auburn University. He worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those who live in LaGrange and the Troup County community.
As a former member of the Auburn University Foundation board he gave back his time and talents to improve opportunities for all Auburn students. As you know, the West Georgia Auburn Club honored Mr. Hudson with establishment of the Charles Hudson Scholarship Fund. Today it is helping students with tuition that they might experience Auburn.
The entire Auburn Family expresses their love and admiration for Mr. Hudson and is asked to keep his family in our prayers.
